Director of Loudoun Knights

Chris Caravelli returns to the Loudoun Knights as Hockey Director, 2011 birth-year coach, and U16 Coach. Chris brings with him a wealth of playing experience from house hockey to Jr. A and coaching experience with 16 years of skill development and power skating, and, and 14 years’ experience coaching local youth House, Tier-II, and Tier-I teams. Since age 4, hockey has been Chris’ passion. He enjoys teaching team concepts, mental toughness, and life lessons through the great game of hockey.

Loudoun Knights' 12U Head Coach

Originally from Dartmouth, NS, Canada, Mike is a lifetime player, coach, and student of hockey. From his youth hockey days to the present he has played hockey for 43 consecutive years and most recently has put a tremendous amount of focus and energy into coaching youth hockey in MD.
Mike currently resides in New Market, MD and has two boys Thomas (14) and Teddy (11) who share his passion for the game of hockey and currently play travel at the Pee Wee and Bantam level. Mike has 7 years of coaching experience with Frederick and Hagerstown and has been a lead instructor at numerous skill development clinics in our region. Last season Mike was the assistant coach working alongside Craig Desjarlais who will be the Head Coach for the Loudoun Knights 2010 Birthyear team this coming season.
Mike is currently a Level 4 Certified USA Hockey coach and was scheduled to get his Level 5 this summer in Minneapolis before it was cancelled due to Covid-19. He regularly attends USA coaching programs both in person and online to stay current with the game. Mike’s coaching style is full commitment to player development, allowing players to be creative and play the game at a high tempo.

Dedicated to service, Coach Dan Keyes has always worked towards the common goal of a team. “Hockey has taught me lessons that I have applied throughout life. Being a goalie has taught me the power of service and humility.” Coach Danny credits his hockey experience for his success as a public servant for over 25 years.
From the beginning Coach Danny has always seen the need for stewardship, and the sharing of skills and ability. “As a youth goalie, all I wanted was coaching. I was hungry for it, back then all we had was a team dad or an old pro that would teach a winter clinic.” This lack of coaching and development led Dan to start coaching over 20 years ago. Officially getting certified by USA hockey 15 years ago has led Coach Dan to achieve the level 5 coaching certification.

Jeremiah Hazzard was born and raised in Kitchener Ontario, where he grew up playing in the Kitchener minor hockey program. He also coached for the major pee wee program there from ‘97-’00. Jeremiah started coaching in Northern Virginia shortly after graduating with a fire protection engineering degree in 2003. He enjoyed watching his players develop during his coaching tenure and led Bantam teams to numerous district and regional championships. In 2007, Jeremiah led a team to the knock out round of the National Championships in Buffalo NY. Jeremiah is currently a Level 4 USA Hockey coach and has lived in Leesburg with his wife and two kids since 2012.

A native of Northern Virginia, Andrew has been a competitive ice hockey coach for the past 5 years. With an emphasis on teamwork, hockey IQ, and skills development, Andrew was able to lead the Reston Raiders u19 AA girls team to the 2017 nationals. In 2019, he enjoyed great success with the George Mason University coaching staff during their inaugural year of women's ice hockey where they were able to finish as the top team in the regular season and finished as the DVCHC D3 Finalist. He also coaches the Herndon High School coed ice hockey team. Andrew is a level 5 certified coach by USA Hockey.

With his love of the game, Coach Kucinich focuses on a teaching approach that promotes fun with an understanding of the game. Andrew emphasizes preparation, competition, on ice experience, and building the player's ability to analyze the game. These key skills develop well rounded teammates who are not afraid of making mistakes and play together as a group to achieve goals. With a tailored development plan and hard work, each player is able to measure their progress and successes over the course of the year.

LCDP Head Coach

Joshua Beck will serve as Head Coach of the 16U Midget Team for the 2020-21 season. Originally from Scituate, Massachusetts, Beck played youth hockey for the Bay State Breakers. He then played junior hockey for the Seacoast Spartans Prep where he led the team in points. After the Spartans, he attended and played for Babson College (NCAA DIII) Program. Beck graduated from Babson College in 2020 with a degree in Business & Entrepreneurship. In 2017, Beck represented Team USA for the 20th Maccabi Games in Jerusalem, Israel, and won the Silver Medal.
